UK Humber Local Enterprise Partnership Appoints New CEO

Kishor Tailor, former Economic Development Director for Partnership for Urban South Hampshire and Chief Executive of Leicestershire Economic Partnership, has been appointed as the new Chief Executive of the Humber Local Enterprise Partnership.

Lord Haskins, Chair of Humber LEP, commented: “We are absolutely delighted to appoint Kishor to this role. He joins us at a critical time in the Humber’s growth. Kishor’s vast experience in the economic development field, his extensive knowledge and background is pivotal in ensuring we capture the opportunities in front of us and take the Humber to the next level.”

Kishor commented: “I am hugely excited to be joining the Humber LEP at such a crucial time. I look forward to working with partners to deliver on the region’s growth plans. There are some incredible opportunities ahead that have the potential to bring jobs, investment and business growth to the Humber.”

Between 2002 and 2009, Kishor Tailor was Chief Executive of Leicestershire Economic Partnership, a public-private partnership that delivered economic growth for Leicester and Leicestershire. Major achievements include generating 100 new inward investments and £250 million worth of investment, creating 5000 new jobs, supporting 3,000 businesses and improving skills of 16,000 people. One of the major projects was the redevelopment of the Shires Shopping Centre in Leicester which created 800 new jobs.

Kishor later took the role of Economic Development Director at Partnership for Urban South Hampshire, where he led a number of initiatives, including establishing a single inward investment agency to provide a gateway for new investors to the area and leading on a Knowledge Transfer Initiative with four universities to encourage spin-offs and new businesses into Southampton Science Park.

Pauline Davis has been Interim Director of the Humber LEP and has now returned to her role as Corporate Director of Regeneration and Partnerships at Hull City Council. Whilst at the LEP, Pauline has been instrumental in developing the region’s City Deal bid which would see powers devolved to the region from Whitehall.

Lord Haskins commented, “I am most grateful for the contribution Pauline has made at a critical stage in the development of the LEP. She has been a great support to me in building up the LEP to deal with its new responsibilities. Our success in the preliminary City Deal bid was in no small part due to her.”
