The Netherlands: Falck Launches Facilities for Wind Farm Safety Training

The Netherlands Falck Launches Facilities for Wind Farm Safety Training

On Friday April 26th 2013 Falck Nutec in the Netherlands officially launched state-of-the-art facilities for wind farm safety training. To celebrate adding these wind training services to our portfolio of on- & offshore and maritime safety training, alderman of Rotterdam Mrs. Jeannette Baljeu performed the official opening.

“It is very important to have such advanced wind training facilities within the Rotterdam Harbour area. On- and offshore workers from all over the world can be trained in a realistic and safe manner within all kinds of weather conditions. I’ am very proud that Rotterdam is the first place in the Netherlands with facilities like this according to the standards of the Global Wind Organization”, says alderman Baljeu.

Following Esbjerg (Denmark), Teesside (England) and Bremerhaven (Germany) Falck Nutec will also be present in the Netherlands to fit the safety training needs of our clients working within the wind energy sector (on- & offshore). Falck Nutec is the first safety training provider in the Netherlands who can offer a high quality training program for the renewable energy following the Global Wind Organization (GWO) standards.

The wind turbine training courses are suitable for all personnel working across a range of stages in the development of a wind farm: from onshore construction to site survey, installation, commissioning, operations & maintenance and safe decommissioning of wind projects. We will offer all five GWO modules of the Basic Safety Training standard:

• Work and Rescue at Heights (2 days);

• Manual handling (0,5 day);

• Sea Survival and Boat Transfer (1,5 days);

• First Aid (2 days);

• Fire Fighting and Awareness (0,5 day).

With the opening of this brand new industrial wind training unit Falck Nutec upgraded the training center to a full safety service facility. To celebrate this we saw fit to change our company name accordingly. So from now on Falck Nutec is called: “Falck Safety Services”.
