EEW SPC to Provide Monopiles, TPs for EnBW Baltic 2 (Germany)

After already manufacturing the foundations for the OWF EnBW Baltic 1, EEW Special Pipe Constructions GmbH has now also been appointed with the delivery of 123 Pin Piles (Lot 2) as well as 39 Monopiles and Transition Pieces (Lot 3) for EnBW Baltic 2.

The MPs/TPs will be manufactured in a joint venture with Bladt Industries (Denmark). Contracts have been officially signed in Hamburg in September 2012 and in February 2013 with the customer, the ARGE Baltic 2 Foundations consisting of HOCHTIEF Offshore Crewing, HOCHTIEF Solutions AG and GeoSea NV, who are responsible for the design, manufacturing, transport, and installing the foundations.

The wind farm EnBW Baltic 2 is virtually at EEW SPC`s front door. The final customer EnBW Energie Baden-Württemberg AG is planning to bring the wind farm in the Baltic Sea into service in 2014. EnBW Baltic 2, with its 80 wind power stations with 3,6 megawatt each, is four times the size of EnBW Baltic 1.

The 20,000 tons of pin piles are already being produced and will be manufactured by June 2013. Production of the Monopiles/Transition Pieces will begin in May 2013.

Considering the current order intake, EEW SPC has participated in the installation of near to 1,000 WTGs as manufacturer of foundations.
