HYTORC to Present Wind Industry Tools at HUSUM, Germany

HYTORC, one of the world’s leading suppliers of hydraulic and pneumatic bolting, will present its extensive product portfolio for production, installation and maintenance of wind turbine generators (WTGs) at the Husum Wind Energy at 3C09 stand, from 18 to 22 September 2012.

HYTORC has been supporting the wind power industry for many years through robust mobile hydraulic and pneumatic bolting from 60 Nm to 190,000 Nm, suitable for construction sites. So far, a number of such facilities (towers, nacelles, blades) have been carefully bolted with the help of these tools.

“During the fair, HYTORC will demonstrate the fastest and most accurate installation process, which offers high safety. This procedure is torsion-free and has been certified by GL Wind. Our system is perfectly suited for the harsh offshore wind sector,” said Patrick Junkers, CEO of HYTORC Germany.

Among other things, the method is ideal for assembling rotor blades. It is based on a three-part stretching clamp that is tightened with hydraulic or pneumatic torque wrenches. Through the consistent thread and bearing surface friction within the clamp system it is ensured that accurate, repeatable calibrated tensioning forces are generated. In addition, it can save more than 50 percent of the time previously required for screwing the rotor blade bolt.

The biennial Husum Wind Energy expects more than 36,000 trade visitors from 90 countries and 1,200 exhibiting companies. The fair is the largest event of its kind in the international wind energy industry and has been for about 25 years a key meeting point for all stakeholders and decision makers in the industry.
