Taiwan: Proposed Wind Farm to Affect Sea Life
Environmental Protection Administration (EPA) said that the proposed wind farm offshore Changhua County coast will affect white dolphin and migratory birds, reports Taiwan News.
Fuhai Wind Power Co. plans to install 52 wind turbines around 10 km off the coast of Fangyuan, in water depths of up to 45 meters. The wind farm is expected to start spinning at the end of 2020.
The proposed area is ecologically sensitive and will not only affect the species mentioned above, but also the local fishermen, claims EPA.
One EPA member said the developer should hold public consultations regarding the proposed wind farm.
