The Netherlands NNOW Organizes Chain Meeting to Present DEME

Netherlands Northern Offshore Wind (NNOW) held a supply chain meeting on February 15 during which a Belgian Dredging, Environmental and Marine Engineering company (DEME) was introduced to some 40 representatives from the offshore wind industry and related courses.

DEME is a consortium of companies involved in offshore projects around the port facilities, oil / gas and wind energy thus it is an interesting client for cooperation in the offshore wind supply chain and a development partner for innovations in reducing the cost of offshore wind.

DEME project manager, Bass Nekeman, presented the company and the way it serves its clients and find suppliers. This may be achieved by commissioning a wind farm or during a tender phase after what DEME gets insight into the quality and prices of suppliers thus it can offer a complete package of services. Allard van Dijk, a project manager at NOM, explained the approach and objectives of NNOW and presented NNOW cluster where the quality is derived from supply chain analysis related to the companies NNOW is involved with. Sjoerd Peters, Account Manager for Offshore Wind at Groningen Seaports, gave the hosts an overview of all activities in the Port of Eemshaven and the specific USPs for offshore wind, which have already been acknowledged considering the multitude of logistics around wind turbine parts in the Eemshaven.
