Business & Finance

Christian Buchel, member of the Board of Management and Chief Operating Officer of EnBW Energie Baden-Württemberg AG, is leaving the company of his own volition as of 31 May 2011.

Christian Buchel will take on a new task at Electricité de France (EDF). As Chief Operating Officer, Christian Buchel was in charge of the central operational units within the EnBW group from February 2009. He had previously held various other positions, including that of managing director at the listed company Electricité de Strasbourg S.A.

“We acknowledge Mr. Buchel’s decision and wish to thank him expressly for his successful work at EnBW. He was responsible in particular for the realignment of the sales function and the development of a range of new products,” says Dr. Claus Dieter Hoffmann, chairman of EnBW’s Supervisory Board.

“EnBW is losing a successful energy manager in Christian Buchel. We regret his decision and wish to thank him expressly, also in the name of our employees, for his work. EnBW’s focus on the market and customers are his legacy. We wish him all the best for the future and every success with his new task,” says Hans-Peter Villis, CEO of EnBW.
