Lamprell Secures Norfolk Vanguard Transition Piece Job

UK-headquartered Lamprell has signed a reservation agreement for the supply of transition pieces for the Norfolk Vanguard offshore wind farms in the UK.

The reservation agreement secures capacity in Lamprell’s Hamriyah yard in the UAE.

The base scope of work entails the supply of 2 x 92 transition pieces for the Norfolk Vanguard West and Norfolk Vanguard East wind farms, and the shipping of these to Tees Work Port in the UK.

Lamprell plans to use its state-of-the-art renewables production line, through which the company can construct wind turbine jacket components, including transition pieces and monopiles, to deliver the project. The company is currently delivering transition pieces for the Moray West offshore wind project.

Acquired by RWE, the Norfolk Zone comprises the Norfolk Vanguard and the Norfolk Boreas offshore wind farms.

Norfolk Vanguard projects are located more than 47 kilometres off the Norfolk Coast. They are adjacent to the Norfolk Boreas site, which is located approximately 72 kilometres from shore at its nearest point.

Recently Vestas signed a capacity reservation agreement and an exclusivity agreement for the 1,380 MW Norfolk Vanguard West and the 1,380 Norfolk Vanguard East projects, respectively.
