CHC will operate its flights from Saint-Nazaire Montoir Airport and will service three offshore support vessels during the various construction phases. CHC has appointed DHSS to be the helicopter ground handling partner at the airport.

“We are delighted that DEME have awarded and placed their trust in CHC in support of this offshore wind construction project. We look forward to taking good care of DEME’s passengers throughout this key project phase,” said CHC Netherlands base manager Quinten H.

DEME Offshore in a consortium with Eiffage Métal secured the engineering, procurement, construction, and installation (EPCI) contract for the 80 monopile foundations destined for the French wind farm in 2019.

Saint-Nazaire, also known as Parc du Banc de Guérande, will comprise 80 GE Haliade 150-6MW turbines located between 12 and 20 km off the coast of the Guérande peninsula.

The 480 MW project is scheduled to be operational in the summer of 2022 when it will become the first commercial-scale wind farm installed in French waters.
