Medevac Chopper Wanted for German Offshore Wind Farms

EnBW Energie Baden-Württemberg AG has issued a contract notice for a rescue helicopter and crew covering the Hohe See and Albatros wind farms in the German North Sea.

The helicopter and its aeronautical and medical crew will be used to rescue injured persons at the two offshore wind farms.

The contract will run from 1 February 2021 to 31 January 2025, with options for two one-year extensions.

The tender will remain open until 12 October.

With a combined capacity of 609 MW, the Hohe See and the nearby Albatros became fully operational in November 2019 and January 2020, respectively.

Located some 95 kilometres north of the Borkum island in the German North Sea, the two wind farms comprise 87 Siemens Gamesa 7 MW wind turbines.
