The first of the project’s 71 Siemens Gamesa 7MW turbines was installed at the project site some 95km north of Borkum and 100km northwest of Helgoland in April.

The 497MW Hohe See offshore wind farm delivered first power to the German grid in mid-July.

Blue Tern and its sister vessel Brave Tern will now begin the transport and installation of the 16 turbines at the neighboring Albatros offshore wind farm.

The two wind farms are owned by EnBW, Enbridge, and Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPPIB).
