The company, which will operate under the name Buss Wind Services GmbH, added the aspects of installation and long-term services for turbines to Buss’ project business in offshore and onshore wind.

The acquisition saw the addition of approximately 90 employees from SSC Wind, Buss Group said.

“The acquisition of SSC Wind’s business is an important strategic step for us. Pure project business will therefore be supplemented by important service areas, which we can offer year-round – regardless of tenders for offshore wind farms,” said Martin Schulz, Buss Managing Director.

According to Buss, now the company can support customers in port logistics, but also provide project management and planning, pre-assembly in the port, as well as installation and servicing for turbines and rotor blades at sea.

Recently, Buss Offshore Solutions entered into a joint venture with IDEA Groupe dedicated to the offshore wind market in France.

The new company, Buss IDEA Offshore, will be focused on providing comprehensive logistics services for the French offshore wind market.
