Under the three-year contract which began in the first quarter of the year, EDS is managing operations, including network surveillance, high-voltage safety management and marine coordination, from its 24/7 control center.

In addition, the company informed it will provide fault location services and emergency repairs in case necessary.

“A proactive maintenance regime based on condition monitoring of HV assets plays a key role in optimising efficiency and reducing operational costs,” said Ryan Murphy, Asset Manager at EDS HV.

“This contract award builds upon an already excellent relationship that EDS has with innogy and we look forward to continuing to provide the service levels that they have come to expect.”

North Hoyle comprises 30 2MW turbines fully commissioned in July 2004 some 5 miles off the North Wales coast between Rhyl and Prestatyn. The 60MW offshore wind farm is UK’s Round 1 project.
