The Netherlands-based BLIX Consultancy BV has revealed its role in the Taiwan offshore wind tender after Northland Power was announced as one of the winners.

BLIX said it had carried out a number of roles in Northland Power’s bid team, including key positions in planning, risk, interface, pricing of the major balance of plant components and project integration support.

According to the company, this is its first time supporting a client in Asia.

To remind, Taiwan’s Ministry of Economic Affairs recently selected Northland Power and project partners Yushan Energy and Mitsui to develop their two Hai Long offshore wind projects with a combined capacity of 744MW. The ministry awarded 232MW to the Hai Long 2 and 512MW to the Hai Long 3 offshore wind farm.

In April this year, the developers secured 300MW capacity for the project located approximately 50km off the coast of Taiwan.

The Hai Long 2 offshore wind farm is expected to be connected to the grid in 2024 to execute a 20-year power contract under Taiwan’s FIT program.
