Stemat Spirit is deployed on the inter-array cable installation and Ndurance is performing the export cable works. Seajacks Hydra is providing staff’s quarters and offices onsite next to the offshore substation.

The inter-array cables have been supplied by JDR, who were contracted by VBMS in 2015 to produce and deliver 56 subsea inter-array cables for the project.

The Galloper offshore wind farm will comprise 56 Siemens wind turbines, each with a capacity of 6MW. The first turbine was installed from Swire Blue Ocean’s wind turbine installation vessel (WTIV) Pacific Orca on 16 May.

The offshore construction phase started in June 2016 and is expected to be completed in late 2017, with the wind farm expected to be commissioned in early 2018.

The construction of the Galloper project is being led by innogy SE on behalf of the project partners.
