The company said the new yard in Sliedrecht offers ample space for further expansion and the capacity to handle multiple activities, such as the assembly of Hydrohammers, tools and frames, and the storage of rental fleet equipment.

Furthermore, IHC IQIP plans to set up a new test facility on site in Sliedrecht as well, where it will test tools and Hydrohammers after production or before mobilisation. This will be similar to the current test facilities in Kinderdijk and Delfgauw.

The on-site test facility and new assembly hall are scheduled to start operations in early 2017.

IHC IQIP was established a year and a half ago combining four former business units: IHC Hydrohammer, IHC Handling Systems, IHC Sea Steel and IHC Fundex Equipment.

At the end of the last month, the company won the Maritime Innovation Award for its Integrated Monopile Installer.

In March, IHC IQIP’s S-4000 Hydrohammer installed its first monopiles at the Nordsee One offshore wind farm project in the German North Sea. The company’s equipment has also been used at Gode Wind and Dudgeon offshore wind projects.
