The award, which is presented to the company who had made the biggest contribution to the offshore renewable sector in the previous 12 months, recognised JFMS’s contributions to contracts such as the offshore construction support contract for Galloper Offshore Wind Farm Ltd and the MeyGen tidal energy array project.

“We are delighted to have been awarded the offshore wind award by Scottish Power Renewables as it not only shows the skill and professionalism of our workforce, but also the expertise we have developed in a niche and incredibly intricate industry,” Martin Sisley, managing director of renewables at JFMS, said.

”In the past 12 months we have provided large scale projects with O&M works, subsea services and offshore construction – often in tricky conditions- and the JFMS team have consistently delivered. Every project we undertake is a combined team effort and this award is a credit to everyone at James Fisher.”

Jonathan Cole, ScottishPower Renewables managing director, offshore wind, said JFMS was making an outstanding contribution to offshore wind off the East of England. He praised its “innovative way of handling logistics” on its GBP 25 million marine services and support contract for Galloper.

“They are not just building a successful business but there are making a contribution to the industry at large,” Cole said.

“It is a national company but has a strong local presence and employs 250 people in the local area.”
