The topside and the jacket of the Race Bank 02 substation, loaded out back in June, were successfully installed at the site off Norfolk, UK, by Seaway Heavy Lifting.

Iemants and Engie Fabricom are currently building the second topside and jacket for the wind farm. The load-out of this substation, Race Bank 01, is planned for the beginning of 2017.

Works on connecting Race Bank wind farm’s offshore cables to the ones on land at a landfall site north of Sutton Bridge started in April.

Onshore construction for the Race Bank offshore wind project began in early 2015 with an onshore substation and the onshore cable works.

The wind farm will comprise up to 91 wind turbines installed at the site over 20 kilometres off Blakeney Point on the North Norfolk Coast.

The project is expected to become operational in 2018.
