The general contractor for execution of the construction is the Dutch construction company Kooi from Appingedam.

Siemens’ requirements have been implemented based on a draft created by the architects and consultants of Ingenieurberatung Bröggelhoff from Emden. Michael Baumfalk, Head of Technology at EMO, has taken on the supervision of the construction.

The buildings and grounds are spread across an area of 3,500 m2 located within the existing EMO Terminal. The construction itself consists of office and hall areas totalling 1,000 m2.

Regarding the water connection, a floating jetty system measuring 2 x 150 metres in length was realised in September 2015.

At the terminal property in Beatrixhaven (harbour), where the water is deep enough for ocean-going vessels, a total of 30,000 m2 is available for further settlements to be established.

The building should be operational by October 2016. The project involves an investment of approximately EUR 1.3 million.

Siemens will use the offshore service hub in Eemshaven as the base for its turbine installation and subsequent 15-year O&M works on the 600MW Gemini wind farm.
