TenneT to Start Tendering Process for Dutch Projects

Transmission system operator (TSO) Tennet has developed a procurement strategy aiming to involve all future suppliers in connecting future Dutch offshore wind farms to the grid.

Under the document, the companies will be able to qualify to take part in future tenders for five wind connection projects offshore Dutch coast.

The strategy is based upon in-house basic engineering (FEED) and separate tendering and award processes for various large components e.g. HVAC equipment, Platform, Sea Cable, Land Cable and a variety of other minor deliveries.

Tennet is obliged to connect 3.5GW of offshore wind power capacity to the grid. Starting next year, TSO will start tendering five 700MW projects with the final one entering operation in 2023.

The projects are Borssele Alpha, Borssele Beta, Hollandse Kust Zuid Alpha & Beta and Hollandse Kust Noord.
