DEME Picks Bremen as German HQ

The DEME group has decided to concentrate all its German activities at the Bremen headquarters.

This operation has already started with the move of the Baltic 2 Project Team from Rostock to Bremen. DEME will have up to 100 people in the Bremen offices as from the next months.

For almost 50 years, different companies of the DEME Group have been active in Germany in maintenance dredging projects and marine engineering activities. DEME’s GeoSea, which took over of the offshore assets of HOCHTIEF, has been involved in the installation of eight German offshore wind farms.

DEME is currently installing the foundations for the Gode Wind offshore wind farms for the account of Dong Energy. The Gode Wind offshore wind farms are located in the German Bight, 45 km from the shore.

At the end of March, DEME entered into a partnership with Nordsee Offshore MEG I GmbH to co-develop the MEG I offshore wind farm in the German North Sea.

Alain Bernard, CEO DEME Group confirms: “Bremen – with its rich maritime tradition and its central location – offers us all required facilities. The plans for an offshore terminal in Bremerhaven offers perspectives to bring our vessels here for loading and maintenance and to organize our logistics for all offshore windfarms in Germany”.
