Norwegian Offshore Wind Industry Shines at EWEA’s Event

Norwegian Centre for Offshore Wind Energy (NORCOWE) was well represented at the EWEA Offshore exhibition by several partner stands, three presentations and four posters – of which Yngve Heggelund’s poster was declared the best in the category “Resource assessment”.

The poster “A fast reduced order method for assessment of wind farm layouts” competed against almost forty other contributions. Co-authors are Chad Jarvis, CMR, and Marwan Khalil, GexCon.

The Norwegian Ambassador visited NORCOWE and the Norwegian pavilion. Kristin Gulbrandsen Frøysa, the director of NORCOWE, met with the representatives of the embassy at the stand: “NORCOWE is attending EWEA Offshore to present research and our events and to nurture and expand our network within the offshore wind industry. Many of our partners are also participating in EWEA Offshore. We use the event to keep up with what’s happening in the industry, especially on the industrial side of it.”

Ambassador at Norcowe

The fact that there were so many Norwegian companies present at EWEA Offshore, shows that Norway possesses knowledge and technology that is sought after, and that Norway is therefore the key partner in the battle for greater share of renewable energy, Norwegian Embassy in Copenhagen stated in its press release.
