Busy December for Alicat Workboats

Busy December for Alicat Workboats

So far, December has seen a record number of operators using Alicat’s vessel lift and turnkey maintenance services.

With eight wind farm support vessels (WFSVs) plus other smaller craft standing on the yard at the same time, the lift has been busy on a daily basis with some vessels being returned to water following completion just a few short hours later.

Some stay longer for larger maintenance projects, like re-powering, structural repairs or modifications, or cosmetic purposes like painting and refit.

With prolonged fine weather being replaced by “weather bombs”, operators are taking calculated weather breaks to fulfill maintenance schedules essential to ensure their vessels are kept in excellent working order.

The heavy workload of WFSVs can take its toll on a craft and its passengers if strict maintenance is not carried out and Alicat offers all major services onsite. From fabrication to fenders, marine electrics to mechanical engineering, hydraulics to hardware, Alicat has strategically put together collective services designed to remove the necessity for calls to multiple companies, which can cause additional downtime when waiting for availability and travel time.

An extensive fleet of fully equipped service vehicles ensures many repairs can be carried out in situ with fast mobilisation.
