RSK Continues Its Work on Rampion Offshore Wind Farm

RSK continued to work for E.ON during the pre-construction period after having completed the environmental impact assessment for the project off the Sussex coast.

The Planning Inspectorate has reported that the Department for Energy and Climate Change gave the Rampion offshore wind farm development consent by on 16 July.

Onshore project manager Katie Barlow acknowledges that this is likely to step things up a gear in terms of RSK input, “Over the next few months, we’ll be assisting E.ON in finalising outline documents to be issued for approval under the development consent order requirements (essentially planning conditions), which have to be approved before construction can start. There are numerous documents to be finalised and issued to the relevant consultees in order to get them approved and signed off so that construction can begin next year.”

RSK has been working on the project since 2010. Most recently, RSK won ongoing consents and pre-construction survey work for the onshore cable connection to the grid, which involves ecological surveys and archaeological, landscape and visual, and project consenting support.
