Scottish Enterprise Welcomes Four OWF Consents

Scottish Enterprise has welcomed the news that four offshore wind farms have received consent from the Scottish Government.

Once completed, the developments in the Forth and Tay region – Neart Na Gaoithe, Inch Cape Offshore Limited, Seagreen Alpha and Seagreen Bravo – could be capable of generating up to 2.284 GW of electricity.

Maggie McGinaly, director of energy and clean technologies at Scottish Enterprise said:

“As well as the significant electricity generation created by these sites, developers will now be able to move forward with these projects, bringing opportunities for new investment – and critically new jobs.

“We’ll continue to work closely with offshore wind supply chain companies and developers to help build relationships, and ensure companies across Scotland can effectively tap into the opportunities the development of these sites will bring.”
