Cuxhaven Port to Present Its Offshore Wind Business in Hamburg

Members of the Cuxhaven Port Association (HWG) will exhibit at the WindEnergy fair from 23 to 26 September in Hamburg, among them the Cuxhaven Economic Development Agency, AMBAU GmbH, Cuxport GmbH, the Cuxhaven Port Development Company CuxHafEn GmbH, OMM Offshore Marine Management, the Sea Survival Center Cuxhaven and Otto Wulf GmbH & Co. KG.

The companies will showcase the port’s service portfolio and provide an in-depth overview of Cuxhaven’s role in the production, installation and servicing of offshore wind farms in the North Sea.

Hans-Peter Zint, Chairman of the Cuxhaven Port Association said: “The HWG members have many years of experience in the offshore sector, since many projects have been and are currently implemented through our port. Cuxhaven offers the necessary requirements, facilities and experienced service providers needed for offshore wind logistics and already today serves as an efficient offshore base port.”

In order to continue to effectively meet these requirements in future, the offshore site Cuxhaven is further expanding its position as a service, installation and production port: In September, a new 5.5 hectare logistics area at the Offshore and Marine Industry Park Cuxhaven was taken into operation. With a length of 380 metres and a width of 120 to 190 metres, it is ideally suited for the transhipment of offshore wind farm components.

By 2017, the construction of berth no. 4 will further expand the capacity of the current Cuxport multi-purpose plant by a third, which will also benefit the offshore wind industry.
