SeaGen Tidal Turbine to Undergo O&M Work

Siemens-owned Marine Current Turbines has announced that it will carry out upkeep activities on its SeaGen tidal turbine system on Monday, 25th November.

The system’s crossbeam will be raised for inspection and maintenance work, and it is expected that the crossbeam will be raised for a period of 2 days, the company said in its Notice to Mariners for Strangford Narrows, Strangford Lough.

SeaGen was deployed a little over five years ago in Northern Ireland’s Strangford Lough, as the world’s largest grid-connected tidal stream turbine.
