Denmark: Bladt Leading Supplier of Offshore Substructures, EWEA's Report Says

Bladt has been announced the leading supplier of offshore substructures in EWEA’s annual report on key offshore trend statistics for 2012 – and with good reason. In 2012, it successfully completed some of the world’s largest offshore wind foundation projects with the London Array and Anholt offshore wind farms.

Offshore foundation projects

In Lubmin, Germany, the fabrication of the 160 foundations for Gwynt y Môr is well under way, and in Aalborg, Denmark, the first load-out of the 108 foundations for West of Duddon Sands has just been completed – a project that is part of the company’s framework agreement with DONG Energy. Other projects under this framework agreement include fabrication of foundations for Borkum Riffgrund 1 and Westermost Rough offshore wind farms.

This spring, Bladt will commence the process of fabricating the 77 foundations for Borkum Riffgrund 1 at its facilities in Aalborg. The project is to be completed at the beginning 2014 and, while working on the Borkum Riffgrund 1 project, Bladt will begin fabricating the 35 foundations for Dong Energy’s Westermost Rough offshore wind farm – also at its facilities in Aalborg.
