The Netherlands: Parts for DanTysk Offshore Wind Farm Shipped from Vlissingen
The first four of eight piles for offshore wind turbines were loaded on January 20 in Vlissingen for shipment to offshore wind farm DanTysk located in the North Sea, 70 kilometers west of the island of Sylt on the border between the Germany and Denmark.
The 65 meter long piles will be carried with 151 meter long offshore wind turbine installation vessel, Seafox 5. This vessel in question will also be used for the installation of the piles. An offshore wind turbine pile weighting between 300-600 tons will easily be handled with a crane on board Seafox 5 which can support a load of up to 1,200 tons.
After DanTysk is completed it will have a total capacity of 288 MW and will power 400,000 households.
