NIRIG to Hold Policy Workshop on Northern Ireland Wind Energy

NIRIG will hold its third annual Policy Workshop “NI Wind Energy – the Scale of the Opportunity” on Thursday 31st January, 2013 in the Hilton Hotel, Belfast. The Northern Ireland Renewables Industry Group (NIRIG) is a collaboration between the Irish Wind Energy Association and RenewableUK.

NIRIG represents the views of the Renewable Energy Industry in Northern Ireland, providing a conduit for knowledge exchange, policy development support and consensus on best practice between all stakeholders in renewable energy.

The Policy Workshop will focus on the contribution of the renewable energy industry to the economic and environmental future of Northern Ireland. It will examine the key needs of the renewables industry with regards to infrastructure development and delivery and address the specific policy issues and industry responses to responsible environmental development.

The conference will also look to the future of offshore renewable energy development through consideration of the industry successes and investment opportunities in Northern Ireland.
