Two 395 tonne transformers for the SylWin1 substation were loaded at the Brunsbüttel Ports by the ENAK floating crane.

The transport began from the manufacturer Siemens in Nuremberg led by barge “Timaja” over the waterway to Brunsbüttel, where the transformers were removed and placed on a lift truck.

Frank Schnabel, Managing Director of Brunsbüttel Ports, said: “This shipment was very important in two senses. First, loads just under 400 tons are always challenging and require detailed planning. Secondly, the connection of the transformers at the substation is an important signal for the offshore industry. “ The transformers reached their destination in Büttel at the end of October.
