UK: Wind Farm Extension Have No Effect on Isle of Man Shipping Lanes

Wind Farm Extension Will Not Affect Isle of Man Shipping Lanes

The developers of the offshore wind farm extension near the Cumbrian coast said that the proposed project will not affect the Isle of Man shipping lanes, writes BBC.

Namely, Dong Energy proposed an extension of 200 wind turbines for the Walney wind farm which currently consists of 102 turbines.

Emily Marshall, from Dong Energy, said: “We can confirm that re-routing shipping lanes will not be an issue.”

“However, the Irish Sea is getting busier with other projects in the development phase and we are undertaking cumulative impact assessments for people who are concerned, with regards to commercial interests.”
