UK: London Array’s 100th Wind Turbine Erects

A new milestone has been reached with the erection of London Array’s 100th wind turbine.

The landmark was reached at 18.45 on Tuesday, 7 August when the turbine’s final blade was lifted into place.

“With 100 wind turbines now assembled, more than three quarters of the foundations completed and the two offshore substations in place, London Array is really beginning to take shape,” said Project Director Richard Rigg.

Phase 1 of London Array will feature 175 turbines with a combined capacity of 630MW. Major construction is due to be completed by the end of the year.
