EastPort UK Could Increase Employment Rate in Great Yarmouth

Jamie Frater, who became head of the EastPort UK last week, said that employment in Great Yarmouth will certainly grow, the BBC writes.

Mr Frater pointed out that employment growth may not be as rapid as people expect and it will be necessary to train people in Yarmouth who want to work in energy sector. Nevertheless, the port has got space for further development that can create jobs in the future.

According to Great Yarmouth’s borough councillor Barry Stone, offshore wind industry has the possibility of increasing the town’s population by 20 %by accommodating thousands of workers who are to build the East Anglia Array wind farm.

The east coast of the East Anglia Offshore Windfarm Zone development is scheduled to begin in 2015.

EastPort UK is privately owned and operated since 2007. It is a multi-purpose facility combining a deep-water outer harbour with a well established river port.  It canprovide the offshore wind sector with land, largedock space and deep water.
