SMart Wind Announces Phase 2 Community Consultations for Hornsea Offshore Wind Farm

The SMart Wind consortium, led by Mainstream Renewable Power and Siemens Project Ventures, announces the launch of its Phase 2 community consultation events set to take place during mid-November 2011 for the first 1GW of the potentially 4GW offshore wind farm in the Hornsea Zone.

The events will take place along the proposed route for the power cables to connect the first 1GW to the National Grid, South of the River Humber.

Building on the various feedback secured through its Phase 1 public consultation events which took place earlier in 2011, the supply-chain led consortium is now at an advanced stage of securing land options for both the cable routes and potential converter station locations.
