Vattenfall Seeking Contractor to Inspect DanTysk Steel

Vattenfall is inviting bids for the contract at its DanTysk wind farm located in the German part of the North Sea, within the German Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ).

The contract will comprise the inspection, maintenance and repair services for the steel structures above water with an option for the steel structures below the water.

The scope of work will cover eighty wind turbine foundations, one offshore substation jacket foundation with topside as well as one offshore accommodation platform jacket also with topside.

Earlier this month, DanTysk produced its first electricity that was fed into the German electricity network. Currently, the wind farm is undergoing commissioning, with the full capacity scheduled for spring 2015.

With a total capacity of 288MW, it will be able to produce clean power equivalent to the consumption of up to 400,000 households.

Vattenfall owns 51% share in Dan Tysk, while Stadtwerke München holds the remaining shares.
