SeaMar to Stand Guard over Hollandse Kust Noord Offshore Wind Farm

SeaMar has been contracted by Van Oord to deploy guard vessels on the 759 MW Hollandse Kust Noord (HKN) offshore wind farm in the Netherlands.

The guard vessels are present within the 125 km2 total surface area of the wind farm and are keeping close contact with the coast guard and project teams to secure the construction site.

If required, the guard vessels shall assist the emergency response teams and take an active part in any required emergency situation.

HKN is being developed subsidy-free by the CrossWind consortium, a joint venture between Shell and Eneco, which selected Van Oord as the Balance of Plant (BoP) contractor in 2020.

Located 18.5 kilometres off the Dutch coast, near the town of Egmond aan Zee, the 759 MW offshore wind project will consist of 69 Siemens Gamesa SG 11.0-200 DD wind turbines.

The installation and commissioning of the wind farm is expected to be completed in the second half of 2023.
