In total, Aarsleff BIZ, a Per Aarsleff company, built and delivered 89 CWPs for the 382.7 MW wind farm at its factory in Swinoujscie.

The CWPs, each weighing 76 tonnes, will be mounted on the wind turbine monopiles, which are currently being installed at the project site in the IJsselmeer.

Located some six kilometres off the Frisian coast, Windpark Fryslân will comprise 89 Siemens Gamesa 4.3 MW wind turbines.

The Zuiderzeewind consortium of Siemens Gamesa and Van Oord is in charge of constructing the wind farm on behalf of Ventolines.

Van Oord is responsible for the design, manufacture, and installation of the monopile foundations and cables, as well as the delivery of the equipment to install the turbines.

The wind turbines are scheduled to be up and running in the summer of 2021.

Once operational, Windpark Fryslân will become the largest wind farm in the world installed in inland fresh water.
