Ocean Installer Eyes Stronger Offshore Wind Foothold, Appoints New CEO

Norway’s Ocean Installer has appointed Odd Strømsnes as the new CEO as it aims to address the offshore wind market.

Strømsnes will officially take over the role on 1 February and will divide his time between the company’s headquarters in Stavanger and its soon to be opened new office in Oslo.

The new CEO will be responsible for Ocean Installer’s new focus on the offshore wind market and will be tasked with establishing and growing this business line.

Interim CEO Kevin Murphy will continue working as Deputy CEO.

“We are very pleased to welcome Odd Strømsnes into the Ocean Installer team,” said Odd Arne Kleveland, Chairman of the Board of Ocean Installer. “He shares our vision in continuing the development of Ocean Installer into an international Tier 1 subsea player.”

Most recently, Strømsnes was the Managing Director at TIOS, a Technip FMC and Island Offshore joint venture. From 2010 to 2016, he was managing director for Technip Norge.

In addition to these roles, Strømsnes has experience from the renewables industry with REC Solar as Vice President for Projects.
