Hornsea Two SOV Coming Together (Video)
Louis Dreyfus Armateurs (LDA) has shared a video showing the construction of its service operations vessel (SOV) Wind of Hope.
LDA placed an order with Salt Ship Design last year for the new wind farm SOV, which is being built at Turkey’s Cemre Shipyard.
Wind of Hope will feature ABB technology, including the power distribution system Onboard DC GridTM at its core and will allow integration of batteries to the vessel’s hybrid power system.
The newbuild vessel will comprise a TTS Colibri crane together with the new walk-to-work gangway, TTS Horizon. It is capable of accommodating up to 60 technicians.
Once delivered in 2021, Wind of Hope will service Ørsted’s Hornsea Project Two offshore wind project in the UK.
