Danes Plan Kriegers Flak Final OK in Early 2020

The Danish Energy Agency (DEA) is planning to grant the final approval for Vattenfall’s Kriegers Flak offshore wind project in January 2020.

DEA has initiated a public consultation period regarding the project’s supplement environmental impact assessment (EIA) report.

Relevant authorities and the public are invited to submit comments on the report by 17 December. After the consultation period closes, the Danish agency will process the feedback, based on which it will make a final decision.

According to DEA, in accordance with the concession agreement sealed with Vattenfall in December 2016, the Kriegers Flak project must be connected to the grid before 1 January 2022.

The 605MW offshore wind farm will comprise 72 Siemens Gamesa 8MW turbines located 15-40km off the Danish coast. Vattenfall plans to kick off the offshore construction work as soon as DEA’s final permission is in place,
