Production at the facilities in Aalborg, Denmark, is planned to start in July 2019 and the delivery of the last transition pieces is expected to take place 12 months after the production start.

The transition pieces will have a diameter of up to 6.4 metres, length of 16 metres, and will weigh some 160 tonnes.

The news follows the announcements that Vattenfall signed contracts with EEW SPC for the delivery of 72 monopiles and Van Oord for the transport and installation of the foundations.

The news came shortly after the owner and developer made the final investment decision (FID) for the 605MW wind farm.

Kriegers Flak will comprise 72 Siemens Gamesa 8MW turbines, planned to be in full operation before the end of 2021.

Following the latest contract, Bladt said its order intake in 2018 had been very positive within the offshore wind segment, as it signed contracts for the Belgian Northwester 2 project, the Dutch Borssele I & II, and now the Danish Kriegers Flak.

“The success we have had on the order intake is attributable to the amazing efforts our employees do every day in relation to our customers and the unique “Bladt spirit” that characterises our company. So we are naturally very proud and happy about the orders we have landed over the last year,” said Lars Bender, Vice President, Head of Commercial and Sales, Wind & Energy.
