The tendered assignment includes the provision of client representative services in relation to UXO risk mitigation activities with scheduled duration from March 2018 and to June 2019, Energinet said.

The UXO risk mitigation activities include UXO survey, inspection of possibly buried targets (ROV and subsea excavation), and possibly removal of verified UXO items in the Southern region of the North Sea between the East coast of United Kingdom, the Dutch sector, and the West coast of Denmark.

The tender remains open until 27 November.

The Viking Link interconnector is developed jointly between Energinet and National Grid.

The 1,400MW HVDC electricity link between the British and Danish transmission systems will connect at Bicker Fen substation in Lincolnshire and Revsing substation in southern Jutland, Denmark.

The interconnector is approximately 760 kilometres long, with the marine section covering around 635 kilometres.

The developers expect to make the Final Investment Decision for the project in 2018 and the link is expected to be operational by 2022.
