At a meeting for DONG Energy’s employees at 10:30 (CEST), CEO Henrik Poulsen will announce the new name.

In May, DONG Energy announced the agreement to divest the entire share capital of DONG E&P A/S to INEOS, including that closing of the transaction was subject to certain regulatory approvals.

Earlier this year, DONG Energy had also decided to entirely phase out the use of coal as fuel at its power stations by 2023.

DONG changed its name from DNG on 2 December 1973.

In 2006, the company became DONG Energy with the merger of six Danish energy companies, DONG, Elsam, Energi E2, Nesa, Københavns Energi and Frederiksberg Forsyning.
