The newly appointed distributor is working closely with some potential Chinese IPP customers and the majority of the 15 LiDARs are expected to be installed and commissioned on a specific offshore wind park in China, the company said.

They will be integrated directly into the wind turbine control system for optimization of yaw alignment to increase the average power generation on the individual wind turbines.

The LiDAR sensor units are expected to be delivered in the second quarter of 2017.

“The Chinese wind market is a key market for Windar Photonics future growth why I am very pleased for this new order and the agility of our newly appointed distributor. Our strategy in this very important Chinese market is showing progress and I am confident in our China IPP and OEM market expectations,” Jørgen Korsgaard Jensen, Chief Executive Officer of Windar Photonics, said.
