Located off Aberdeen Bay, the EOWDC offshore wind test and demonstration facility, also known as Aberdeen Offshore Wind Farm, will have 11 turbines, an installed capacity of 92.4MW, and will produce enough electricity every year to meet the equivalent annual demand of 78,529 homes.

The aim of the project is to continuously reduce the Levelised Cost of Energy (LCOE) by allowing the testing of evolving technology.

Ryan Henderson, Group Director at EDS said: “This further cements an excellent relationship that we have built up with Vattenfall over the past 3 years, including supporting them with critical consultancy services at projects such as Pen y Cymoedd and Kentish Flats Extension. We look forward to building upon that relationship and playing a significant part in this important project.

“EDS is part of a growing and competitive UK supply chain that is contributing towards the growth of a world leading offshore wind sector.”
