The Perth-headquartered energy company’s output from renewable resources, including offshore wind farms, was 6.8 TWh for the period, compared to 5.6 TWh recorded for the nine months ended 31 December, 2014.

Commenting on further development of its offshore wind portfolio, SSE said that the 588 MW Beatrice offshore wind farm is expected to reach Final Investment Decision stage by March, in line with the Investment Contract granted to the project by the UK government back in May 2014.

SSE is developing the Beatrice wind farm via the Beatrice Offshore Wind Farm Limited (BOWL), a joint venture with Copenhagen Infrastructure Partner (CIP) and Repsol.

Earlier this month, SSE sold a 10% stake in the farm to CIP, and now has a 40% equity ownership in BOWL. CIP controls a 35% stake, with Repsol holding the remaining 25%.
