CIP Hikes Beatrice Stake
Scotland-based SSE has sold a further 10% stake in the Beatrice offshore wind farm to its joint venture partner Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP).
SSE now holds a 40% stake in the project, with CIP controlling a 35% stake, and Repsol the remaining 25%.
SSE says that the sale marks another key step in the project’s preparation for construction, in advance of the upcoming final investment decision due in March 2016.
The 588MW site is located in the Outer Moray Firth on the north-western point of the Smith Bank, 13.5km from the Caithness coastline at the closest point.
CIP bought the initial 25% stake in the project from SSE back in November 2014.
