ORPC Sets Up Quebec Subsidiary

Ocean Renewable Power Company (ORPC) has established Énergies Marines Renouvelables Québécoises Inc. (or EMARQ), a wholly-owned subsidiary of ORPC’s based in Montreal, Quebec.

“ORPC is committed to investing in Quebec and making marine renewable projects a reality for the province,” said ORPC President & CEO Chris Sauer. “We are pleased to announce that Quebec-based Marcel Boridy has been named Vice President and General Manager of EMARQ, and that the ORPC-EMARQ team is building strong working relationships with the province’s public and private sectors.”

“EMARQ’s vision is to work collaboratively with the Quebec government and interested organizations to install marine renewable systems in river and tidal environments starting with Quebec’s Plan Nord region,” remarked Marcel Boridy. “And as with all ORPC projects, EMARQ is committed to maximizing the contributions of local partners by creating a Quebecbased industry cluster and generating significant economic benefits including job creation.”
