Taiwan Pledges EUR 2.5 Bln for 2020 OW Targets

Taiwan has pledged to boost offshore wind industry by investing NT$ 88 billion (EUR 2.5 billion) by 2020 and NT$ 670 billion (EUR 18.7 billion) by 2030.

According to Taiwan’s Ministry of Economic Affairs, as many as 36 locations in the Taiwan Strait, with depths of up to 58.2 metres, will be covered by the government initiative, writes China Times.

Bureau of Energy, the Ministry of Economic Affairs’ body, recently announced an increase in 2030 offshore wind targets from 3GW to 4GW.
